There's not so much information on Ukrainian Charm as it's not an old and reputable dating platform but a new website, so the only way to find out how it works was to set up an account and test the service.

• Instant messaging. We could start a conversation in a kind of private chat room with every member, and the messenger is convenient and not buggy. Media file exchange, stickers, and emojis are available too.
• Mails. Mails are designed for those who prefer to write and read longer love letters.
• Profile videos. Considering it's not free, we watched just a few videos of members we liked most.
• Virtual gifts. They are not too expensive and may work pretty well for those who think they probably met someone special.
• Real presents. That's the only premium feature we haven't used, as such gifts are way more expensive, and we had no real goal of building a relationship with a single lady registered on the UkrainianCharm website.

UkrainianCharm.com isn't cheap, but we'd say that not every advanced feature here must be used. For example, we didn't spend too many credits on gifts and videos and chose live chat over Mails, so we didn't spend a fortune. The Say Hello feature is pretty cost-effective as you can spend just 2 credits and find out if a user is interested in having a conversation with you, too. Generally speaking, UkrainianCharm cost is higher compared to mainstream online dating platforms and lower compared to the platforms where users are looking for mail order brides from different countries, including Ukraine.

How to Search for Matches on Ukrainian Charm

What about the technical aspects of using the site? Below, we explain how exactly we could find matches, what their profiles were like, and how we could communicate with others on UkrainianCharm.com

Search

A user looking for a perfect match on the site can use two search features:

1. Standard Search. Just click the Search button on the Main Menu to see the potential matches and sort them by three filters—All, Online, or Following, if necessary. Also, you can click on the Filters icon and set basic search criteria, namely, the country, age, and gender.

So, there's enough information about almost every user. You see photos, know important details like education and relationship goals, and most importantly, can read a message from a member themselves, which usually tells a lot more about the person. We also appreciate that the posts are shown on your profile—you can see everything that a user has previously shared and learn even more about them before you spend some of your credits on writing your first message or just saying hello.

Communication

When you see another person's picture, you can start a dialogue regardless of which page you are on right now. We usually start dialogues after carefully reading all the information on a profile, and doing it is more than just simple—you'll see the chat window right under one's bio, can switch to Mails if you want to, as well as send a virtual or a real gift. The Say Hello button is right in the middle of the chat window—just press the button if you want to send an auto-generated greeting instead of typing your own message. • Virtual and real gifts. We wouldn’t use these features all the time as they’re far from being cheap, but if you have already met someone or seen someone you like a lot, they may work. 

All this improves the experience for a user and also makes the site stand out from multiple dating platforms in the same segment of the market. 

Our Experience on UkrainianCharm 

We bought 750 credits to spend them all on communicating with women and see what exactly a user can get for the price and analyze the audience of the site at large. 

Here are some main conclusions. First of all, the response rate is high—we received responses in around 80% of cases, but we’d also like to emphasize that success pretty much depends on the communication features you are using to approach someone. 

Virtual gifts, of course, work as the best ice-breakers. All women (5 of them) who received gifts from us messaged us and expressed more interest overall. Custom messages we’ve sent worked well, too. The response rate was around 80%. Winks and likes worked worse, but they still worked—when we used free features, we received messages in around 20% of cases. 

As for the ladies themselves, we met different people on the site. Most were open to communication and told us a lot about themselves and, most importantly, asked questions about us. Some, however, responded to our messages and didn’t express genuine interest in a conversation. As for the “profile,” most were employed, single (around 20% of women were divorced), and only 2 had children.

If you are going to use the site, go to the Credits page before you spend any real money and scroll down to see the actual prices for every single service. The site is not cheap, but the policy is transparent, so you can plan your budget. Also, we’d recommend developing a good dating strategy, focusing on your best matches, and using only effective communication features to cut costs. 
• Account banned for no reason. There were users who said that they had their accounts blocked for no apparent reason. In this case, the only way to solve the problem is to contact customer support. You don’t have to access your account to do it—log out, find the form on the official site, describe the issue, and provide the email address you used to sign up for the site. 
• Chatting without any outcome. Some men noted that they met women who were ready to chat about anything and discuss the weather and daily life but didn’t seem to be interested in learning more about their potential partners and acted like they needed that conversation that actually goes nowhere. 1. Spot auto-generated messages and similar messages sent by different members—that’s a red flag. 
2. Pay attention to everything you see on profiles and check the photos using free photo search tools.
