The Lucky Date was advertised like the new version Tinder created for international dating, and that seemed a pretty interesting concept. So, our team decided to join the site, purchase some credits and spend them on exploring the features of the platform. In this TheLuckyDate review, we share our thoughts on the site, its pros, cons, and prices.

Getting Started: Creating an Account on TheLuckyDate.com
When we decided to create an account on TheLuckyDate, we were surprised by how easily one can do it. It took less than 3 minutes for us to sign up. As for the stages, they were as follows:
- Browsing the site and finding the registration form (believe us, you won’t miss it—like on many other dating websites, it’s right at the top of the page)
- Providing basic information—we indicated the gender (we signed up as a male member), name, and date of birth, and entered a valid email address
- Creating a password
You can sign up even faster if you are ready to create a profile using your Google account (we preferred to avoid it.) After you provide basic details, you’ll be redirected to the quiz, and again, we gave all the answers in two minutes—it’s pretty short, and there are no complex questions. You only need to provide some information on your location, weight, and height and add a profile picture (which is optional, too.) Note that you’ll also be able to write a short self-description if you want to. Basically, that’s all—a few simple actions and a new user accesses the profiles.
Tips on How to Create a Profile on TheLuckyDate
- If you want to see the profiles before you spend more time making your profile detailed, no problem, just skip the questions in the quiz—you will be able to edit your profile at any time.
- Write self-description—profiles are not super-detailed, and useful self-descriptions really make members stand out.
- Adding a profile photo is optional but highly recommended for a reason—a low-effort profile just won’t work as well on TheLuckyDate.

Free & Premium Features
Unlike many niche dating sites, TheLuckyDate doesn’t try to provide as many services as possible—there are some basic tools, and the best thing is that most of them are free. Still, they must be analyzed. We tested them all and are now ready to share the impressions.

Free Features
On this dating website, all members, including non-paying ones, can do the following:
- Sign up—we've already mentioned that signing up for this site was super fast and easy, and this is one of the rare dating platforms that let you join using your Google account
- Browse profiles—we could view as many profiles and as many photos as we wanted—there are no limitations
- Use search—there is a search with only two filters—age and location, and obviously, that's not enough to find a perfect match who'd have everything that you were looking for in a partner (unless you are very lucky)
- Use the swiping feature—once a member clicks search, he's redirected to the page which looks basically like a Tinder page—profiles can be skipped, viewed, or liked
- Add members to Favorites to reach them later
- Contact support team—unfortunately, there is no live chat, and we could only send emails
- View public photos—and most members of this online dating community have lots of them, pics can be viewed in full size
- See suggested profiles—this is one of the special features we didn't expect to see, and it worked pretty well as we could find the profiles of similar-looking women of the same age without using search (that doesn't work that well)
Premium Features and How Much We Paid for Using Them
Though TheLuckyDate has a lot of free features, it's still not a free dating service. There is only one credit package available—members can buy 2,000 credits for only $2.99. However, though it may seem to be a benefit, we soon found out it was pretty annoying as we ran out of credits all the time. We spent around $150 on conversations with ladies, and that's the average amount (yes it seems a lot, but our team usually tries to reach as many suitable matches as possible.)
So, the features that we could spend credits on were as follows:
- Live chat feature—we could send direct messages in real-time, and basically, chat worked as any other chat. The cost was 200 credits per minute, and we could also send photos and even audio messages (in general, that was a pretty good alternative for phone calls.) By the way, there were some pretty decent and attractive templates, the conversation starters that can be helpful (but ladies can also get tons of them from men.)
- Watching profile videos—watching a video costs 2,500 credits, which seems a lot, but it's surprisingly cheaper than on many other niche dating websites. We still watched videos to make sure the woman we are talking to is real.
- Virtual gifts—sending a virtual gift costs from 4,900 credits, depending on the category you'd like to choose. There are common, uncommon, and rare types of gifts.
New members who join this dating platform get 2000 credits for free, and that's a nice bonus, but it was not enough to contact as many young ladies as we wanted to reach.

How to Look for Matches on TheLuckyDate Online Dating Site?
We've already mentioned that there are two search filters on this online dating platform. They are:
- Age—there are more young and mid-aged people on the site
- Location—there are many countries on the list, but in fact, most female members are from the so-called best countries for dating, for example, Thai, the Philippines, Ukraine, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, etc.
We could like profiles and see them on Matches if the members liked us, too. Still, we missed those filters that could help us find brunettes, blondes, never-married ladies, women with children or without them, with bachelor's degrees or without them, etc.
Profiles
Profiles on TheLuckyDate are not super-detailed, but they are not low-effort, either. Nearly all the profiles web viewed contained the following:
- Basic details—personal information like height, weight, age, number of children (if any), location, occupation, education, some information on habits, and zodiac sign (so yes, there is such information on profiles, but there are no such search filters.)
- Short self-description. Most ladies didn't mention if they were looking for serious relationships or something casual and rather described their personalities and interests.
- Photos. Those who want to meet girls with pictures definitely shouldn't worry—most singles have a lot of them. Public pics are available to all, while private photos could be viewed only after we started a conversation with a woman.
- Profile videos—mostly short ones but still interesting to watch.
Though it's not so easy to find matches on TheLuckyDate, we couldn't find obviously fake profiles. So, a member can meet women with similar interests, but he'll spend a lot of time looking for them on this website.
Interaction
We could send messages, including voice messages, send photos, and basically, that was all. Again, unlike dating sites with mail order brides or an online dating platform that connects people looking for serious relationships and nothing but serious relationships, TheLuckyDate is just one of the web services that can be used for conversations, finding new good friends abroad, and yes, a foreign girlfriend, but the site doesn't try to make a user stay at all costs. It's used just to meet someone, have some pleasant chats, and maybe get closer using Zoom and other services with other features.
Special Features
There's nothing extra special that we didn't mention before. There are no Smarter matches or anything exceptional—yes, the site looks good (by the way you can switch it to the dark theme if you want to), but there are no services that will really surprise you. We hope TheLuckyDate team will reconsider that and add some fun features for users.
Our User Experience
What was our dating experience like? There are two stories that we remembered best:
Natalia from Kazakhstan was 46 years old, and though we were initially looking for younger matches, we liked her photos and self-description. We had a lot of conversations, and she turned out to be a business lady looking for something serious and totally disappointed in the local guys. Definitely one of the smartest ladies we met on The Lucky Date website.
Tatiana (26) was a Russian in China, and that seemed interesting. We reached her and asked her a lot about her life and career—she told us she lived below the poverty line until she found an agency that hired her as an English teacher, and well, she succeeded. She wasn't looking for something serious, just felt lonely in a new country. We had a few more great conversations until she said she met someone on The Lucky Date dating site. No problem with that; still a charming person.
Feedback from The Lucky Date Members
TheLuckyDate Scam Schemes and Problems: Feedback From Users
Though we always test the websites, and TheLuckyDate is no exception, we also realize that a few weeks isn’t enough to learn everything about the platform. That’s why our experts search for and consider the feedback from other members of the community, and here are the problems that some of TheLuckyDate members faced:
- Suspicious about women getting paid by the site. For some users, the experience on the site wasn’t that satisfying because ladies seemed to be interested in staying on TheLuckyDate rather than in keeping in touch elsewhere. The representatives of the platform emphasize that their members don’t receive financial compensation for interacting with others on their site in particular. We, in our turn, also didn’t find any information on payments for members hired by the company (all the websites operating legally in the US and other countries must provide it), and if you notice that a user acts weirdly, we recommend blocking them and reporting scams.
- Too high prices. Though some members note that the quality of profiles on TheLuckyDate is higher than on similar websites, they need to spend too much to get closer to someone they meet here. The administration of the site notes that they have a transparent policy regarding prices for the provided services. We must admit that TheLuckyDate is a premier website, and chatting isn’t cheap here. So, we’d recommend focusing only on the best possible matches and using your dating strategy only in case you feel something special to your interlocutor and are ready to invest time in courting.
- No opportunity to exchange contact details. There are TheLuckyDate users who mentioned that, when they try to exchange contact information with other members, they only can see stars instead of numbers. The administration notes that they allow users to exchange contact information if they both agree to share these details. We can recommend clarifying the sharing-personal-info issue at the beginning of the conversation, and if a member acts weird answering your questions, block them.
- No results after communicating with TheLuckyDate female users. Some men note that they couldn’t build any emotional connections with ladies on the site because they acted as if they weren’t interested in real meetings or taking a relationship to a new level. The representatives of the company say that though they check nearly all profiles of the female applicants, they can’t control all the members and the way they communicate. We highly recommend every user to stop communicating with any member who ignores their desire to take a relationship to a new level to save the time and give it to those who deserve it.
Take these issues and our recommendations to attention and you might face none of them. Also, if you’d like to have additional protection, there are some common rules to follow on TheLuckyDate and all other online dating sites one can possibly find on the web:
- Use Google Search by image. If you want to make sure the person is real, use this tool to ensure the photos weren’t stolen on social media or downloaded from stock websites.
- Don’t send money to anyone. If you meet someone who asks you for any kind of financial help, ignore these requests and report scams.
- When things are moving too fast, it’s often a bad sign. If a user seems to be too interested in a relationship with you, and if it happens within just a few days, beware—there’s a chance this person is just trying to gain your trust.
- Spot auto-generated messages. If you receive weird messages or realize that there are multiple similar messages from the same users, it’s a good reason to leave the site.
How to Cancel or Pause a Subscription?
TheLuckyDate is the website that offers credits instead of premium plans, so you don't have to take measures to cancel the subscription - you can just stop communicating with others to stop paying. However, if you have previously enabled the Credit Auto-Renewal feature, you need to disable it before you leave the site or take a pause. You can do it with a few clicks in your Profile Settings.
How to Delete a Profile?
If you may wish to pause or terminate your membership with the dating service, you can achieve either of these goals by following a few simple steps:
- Open "App setting"
Log into your account and go to the "App Setting" tab in the Profile dropdown menu.
- Select "Account Deactivation"
Choose the "Account Deactivation" tab from the menu on the left.
- Choose "Hide" or "Delete"
Choose the preferred option: hide or delete your profile.
- Confirm the deactivation process
Confirm your choice and complete a short survey if you wish.
Hiding the account makes it invisible to other dating site members and removes you from the newsletter list. However, you can reactivate your profile anytime, no questions asked. Deleting the account is non-reversible, meaning you'll need to start from scratch if you ever decide to return to TheLuckyDate. If you have any credits left on your balance, hiding your account won't affect them, but deleting the profile will void your balance.
How to Use The Lucky Date—Tips and Recommendations
There are a few things that we've learned when using TheLuckyDate website, and if you're going to join this community, we can share some tips with you:
- This dating service works much better if you have a detailed profile and write something useful in your self-description
- There's nothing wrong about asking a lady about her relationship goals in your first messages—that can actually save you some money
- Read information in profiles and use it to write your first message to someone—templates may be helpful, but we ladies replied us less frequently when we were using them

TheLuckyDate is a global dating website that accepts singles from Asia, Latin America, Europe, Canada, the US, and Australia. However, it wasn’t designed as a website aimed at connecting local singles—it’s an international dating platform for people seeking cross-cultural relationships.
Yes, TheLuckyDate is a legit dating website. Though it was launched just a few years ago, its policies regarding membership, privacy, and quality of services, along with its good marketing strategy, made it one of the most popular legit niche websites with over 500,000 monthly visitors.
No, it’s not a free online dating service. You can join the community for free and use some free features, but live chatting, along with using some other features, comes at a price. Members get complimentary credits, and once they run out of them, they need to buy more to keep communicating with other members on TheLuckyDate.

There are many free features on TheLuckyDate, but you can hardly use it without purchasing credits because live chat is a premium communication tool. All new members get 2,000 complimentary credits to test it, though.
Sarah I have spent a ton of money on this sight. The girl I like is from Columbia. She is great but does not want to communicate off the sight. I’m not sue if Columbia has a issue with e mail or what. I do know there is no mail like USPS and ups or fed ex are questionable. Is this a red flag? Or should I not worry?
I’ve been reading your reviews, but I can’t decide which dating site to join. TheLuckyDate seems the least intimidating, but I’m not sure about the limited features. Any advice?
Hi, Xavier!
TheLuckyDate is a good option if you’re new to online dating and haven’t picked a destination yet. Most niche sites, like SofiaDate or LaDate, have advanced features but only accept girls from specific destinations, like Eastern Europe or Latin America. If you know what kind of woman you wish to meet, we suggest using niche sites, but if you have no preference and want to explore your options first, TheLuckyDate is an excellent place to start.
Whichever option you choose, remember to make the most of the welcome bonus and keep track of your credits, as they tend to run out fast when you first join.
We hope you’ll find what you’re looking for.
this is all not true , they have many hidden points form of scam ..requested 300000 credits to exchange contact with one member only ..you should spend 600USD for that ..neer mention the fees for video to watch 5000 credits ,,send a letter 3000 credit plus 1000 each attachment photo..also any Emoj sticker 1000 credit ..from wher all this money ,,you should work for them .. Hello, thank you for your comment! The Lucky Date isn’t a cheap website, it’s true, and we mention it in our review. If we compare it to other similar sites, we’ll see that sending stickers isn’t free on any of them, and we completely agree that’s unnecessary and even annoying. Nonetheless, we greatly appreciate your feedback and attention to our review.
I want to know how true exchanging the contact information is I’m going to do the $600 but I want to know if both parties have to do it or if one party can do it. We seem to connect very well together we want to get off the website we’re having trouble need help in finding that out.
Could not find out where it tells you how many credits you have left. This site doubled some of my correspondence to a couple ladies, Seems like a rip off to me.
Hello! You can see how many credits you have left in the Credit Section on the Main Menu. If you can’t see your balance, the best way to solve the problem is to reach the support team of the website.
Sarah, I have found the woman that I want to be with. Her name is Alla, she’s a doctor and lives in Odessa. I want to get her email address and contact phone number. Please help! Thank you .
Yanni
Hi, Yanni!
We’re happy you’ve found your perfect match on TheLuckyDate.
Unfortunately, this dating site (like most others) prohibits sharing contact information, including email and phone number, in the profile details. And if Alla does not share them with you via chat, your only way to get her contact info is through the TheLuckyDate personal contacts request feature, which is pretty costly.
P.S. Please keep in mind that some women may feel uncomfortable sharing their phone numbers on dating sites.
